She probably has flea allergy dermatitis.  Get some frontline; if this the case, it should clear up in about a week or less.

She probably has dermatitis from the fleas, a flea allergy. But take her to the vet soon because the vet might want to prescribe steroids to bring down the swelling and itching of the skin.

I had a cat once that was alergic to fleas, and the result was a loss of hair, to the point of baldness on her back.  It could be the same thing.  Good Luck.

Most dont understand that a cat can die from fleas. They develop something called Brucella(sp) which is when the fleas are feasting on your cat, and creates an infection in the blood, and yep; those fleas will make your cat lose her hair. Stress is also a factor..and ...think how you would feel if you had bugs crawling alllll over you and biting...kinda...stressful. There are good flea products out nowdays that you can use just once a month. I do not recommend any off the shelf brands unless you can locate "Advantage". That I have used for several years with great success, especially since I have seven indoor/outdoor cats ( we live waaay out in the rural countryside)..glad your cat is at the vets..if its a good vet, youre cat will be fine...but...you will need to vaccumn the house, might want to get some sevin dust and sprinkle the house and yard...or ditanious earth which kills all bugs on contact and you sprinkle it all over the yard, from the edge of your house, outward: no fleas, ants, ticks....slugs, or other bugs, and its all natural too.
