If you buy baby ducklings and raise them as pets can you take them to swim in a nearby creek?

they are a bit older and you watch them and they know how to swim
We always just bought a kiddy swimming pool and placed a few concrete blocks inside and outside of the pool to be used as the entrance and exit ramps. They had a great safe time.
I have 3 ducks myself.
As long as you keep a watch over them, and make sure they're old enough. Ducklings don't have their oil glands yet, so their feathers can get wet and heavy. As long as they don't stay in for too long. :}

Be careful. Until they are fully feathered they can drown. Also when they are swimming they may become a snack for a snapping turtle. Turtles will kill and eat ducks and sometimes bite off legs. Also how will you catch them again? If they are having a ducky fun time you might not be able to catch them. Ever heard the phrase "like ducks to water"? Well, it definitely holds true. Have you gotten them a play pool with a slide? They'll love the slide. Also, if you're worried they won't come back to you if you take them to a creek, just jingle a bell before you feed them and have them follow you to their feeding spot. When you take them to the creek, bring the bell along with you.answers
